Questions we get asked

Do you guarantee coverage?

No, and be careful of any firm that does. We guarantee the work: the reporters we'll approach, the materials we'll produce, and the number of pitches we'll run. Editors decide the rest.

Why a three-month minimum on the retainer?

Media relationships take about that long to produce anything. Month one is research and materials, month two is outreach, and month three is usually when stories start appearing. Leaving after one month means paying for the setup and none of the return.

Can we start small and scale up?

Yes. Roughly half our retainer clients started on Advisory or a single campaign. Moving up mid-engagement is prorated, and there's no re-onboarding fee.

What if we have an in-house comms person?

Then Advisory is usually the right fit. We work as an extra pair of hands and a second opinion rather than replacing anyone, and we're happy to be introduced to reporters as part of your team.

Do you work with competitors in the same category?

Not without telling you first. Category exclusivity is written into the retainer contract, and we'll turn down work that conflicts with an existing client.

Not sure which one you need?

Send us what you're trying to announce and roughly what you can spend. We'll tell you which engagement fits, or that none of them do.
